Regina Hall was "very jealous" of her* Ally McBeal* costar Lucy Liu for landing a role in *Charlie's Angels*. **

The *One Battle After Another* star told Drew Barrymore, who famously starred alongside Liu in the 2000 film and its 2003 sequel, that she had also auditioned to join the franchise while visiting her talk show on Tuesday. **

"At the time, I was very jealous [of Liu] because I had auditioned for *Charlie's Angels *and I wanted it," Hall explained on *The Drew Barrymore Show*. "I was never gonna get it, but I looked at it and I was like, 'Who got who got *Charlie's Angels*? Because it was so anticipated."

While she may not have gotten the role, Hall acknowledged that the film's casting director got it right in the end. **

"Me and my friends, we all went to see it opening weekend is that we loved every single one of you," she said. "We were not, we didn't have one ounce of disappointment, and I was like, 'Lucy's amazing. Cameron [Diaz] was amazing. You're amazing in the film.' So good."**

A continuation of the hit '70s series of the same name,* Charlie's Angels *followed three private investigators Natalie (Diaz), Dylan (Barrymore), and Alex (Liu) as they are assigned a dangerous mission by their mysterious boss, Charlie (voiced by John Forsythe). The trio later reprised their roles in its 2003 sequel, *Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.***

But Barrymore wasn't ready for Hall's *Charlie's Angels* story to end at just an audition. "If we ever make another one, would you do it?" she asked. "That's happening somehow. We're making it happen."**

Hall was fully on board, replying, "Let's do it!"

Barrymore has spoken often about her interest in developing a threequel to *Charlie's Angels* across the last six seasons of her talk show, going as far as to reveal last November that she'd even called her agent to ask if Zoë Kravitz would direct the project.

"I'm not kidding!" Barrymore told Kravitz at the time. "Because *Charlie's Angels* is all about mixing tones! Let's go!"**

Kravitz replied, "I can't believe we just made a deal on television!"

*The Drew Barrymore Show* airs weekdays on CBS. Watch Hall recall her experience feeling envious of Liu in the clip above.
