Jimmy Kimmel has a bone to pick with "Vice President Maybelline" J.D. Vance after the Republican politician claimed that he was temporarily taken off the air due to being unpopular and having poor ratings. **

The late-night host, who is hosting *Jimmy Kimmel Live* from New York City this week, celebrated his show's return to all broadcast stations across the United States and called Vance's claim "bulls---" during his opening monologue on Monday night. **

*Jimmy Kimmel Live* was temporarily suspended by Disney and yanked from the airwaves by multiple broadcast companies on Sept. 17. The decision came after Brendan Carr, the FCC chair appointed by President Donald Trump, called for affiliate groups to push back against ABC and Disney. Although the suspension officially ended on Sept. 22, Nexstar and Sinclair chose to preempt the show until last Friday. It has since been restored across the country.

"Vice President Maybelline was making the rounds, attempting to defend his boss and the chairman of the FCC with a new fairytale even a 5-year-old wouldn't believe," Kimmel said, before playing a clip from a recent Fox News interview between Vance and Laura Ingraham.

In it, Ingraham noted that many celebrities were rallying behind Kimmel because they believed his suspension was a "first amendment assault" being carried out by Trump, Carr, and the FCC. **

"I'd like them to tell me exactly what Brendan Carr did to have Jimmy Kimmel taken off the air because number one, he is currently on the air," Vance replied. "And to the extent that he isn't in certain stations, it's because he's not funny and because his ratings aren't very good."

"I have some good news for you, J Dog, we're back on all the stations," Kimmel teased. "At every home, every bar, every strip club, and every prison in America. But, sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your bulls---, go on."

He then cut back to Vance's interview, where the* Hillbilly Elegy *author claimed once again that Kimmel was removed from television "because advertisers don't like him because his ratings aren't very good."

Consider Kimmel surprised. "My ratings aren't very good!?" he replied as the audience booed loudly. "Last time I checked, your ratings are somewhere between a hair in your salad and chlamydia."

He continued, "In three and a half years, I'm not the one who's going to be doing mascara tutorials on YouTube. How did we wind up with a president and a vice president who wear more makeup than Kylie Jenner and Lady Gaga combined?"

Kimmel also took a jab at Trump for his decision to declassify records related to the disappearance of famed pilot Amelia Earhart earlier in his monologue. "The president has been hard at work coming up with all sorts of nonsense to distract us from the Epstein files," he declared, adding, "Unless her final flight was to Epstein's island, no one cares."

Earlier this month, Trump publicly gloated over Kimmel's suspension on social media, writing in part, "Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even [Stephen] Colbert, if that's possible."

The former reality star, who has floated the idea of revoking TV licenses from networks that are "against" him, later blasted ABC for reinstating Kimmel in the end.

"Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who's not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE," he wrote. "He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution."

Trump continued, "I think we're going to test ABC out on this. Let's see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings."
