- The Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone fell 20 feet from a ladder in Connecticut.

- The comedian revealed he shattered his pelvis and detached his sacrum from his spine.

- He said he'll require around six months of recovery time.

The Lonely Island member and actor Jorma Taccone suffered a shattered pelvis and a detached sacrum after falling 20 feet from a ladder on the property of his Connecticut home.

Joining the latest episode of *The Lonely Island & Seth Meyers Podcast* (below) from a hospital bed during his recovery, Taccone told cohost Seth Meyers — who teed up the segment by detailing a concerning "incident" with one of the members — about the harrowing ordeal that occurred inside a barn.

"One of the projects I wanted to do this summer was I wanted to build... there's a barn, and the back half of the barn has this big white wall. I was like, this is great, we can do a big mural," the *Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping *co-director* *explained to Meyers and fellow members Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer, adding that he "borrowed tons of ladders" to accomplish the goal.**

"I was painting this barn, and as a final touch, I was like, I should hang these lights that will go around the eve of the barn to highlight the barn. I was doing that on the day," he said, noting that it was also the same day as his 5-year-old daughter's birthday party.

He said his wife, filmmaker Marielle Heller, asked him, "Why are we doing this now?" But Taccone persisted and worked on the project anyway.

"I'm using this ladder that my neighbor let me borrow, and he was like, 'Hey, this ladder is bad, like, you shouldn't use this ladder. This doesn't have a footing thing,' I was like, 'It'll be good,'" Taccone recalled. "I'm almost done, I've done most of the [barn]. When this happens, I'm probably 20 feet off the ground on this very rickety ladder and I have it diagonal. The legs are not good, the base of the ladder is not good."

Taccone recalled feeling the ladder "give way" and that it "started to go" down under him.

"In this moment, my life flashes before my eyes, I'm like, *oh no, I've got to get off this ladder*. I had enough time as I'm falling to be like, *I'm going to die,*" he said. "I drop, I look over, I see the yard, I'm like, *this is going to hurt a lot*. I fall straight on my butt, taking all of the impact on my butt. Then I do a lot of screaming and cursing. Keep in mind, it's my daughter's fifth birthday party, so it wasn't the coolest way to start the day. I'm like, 'Call an ambulance!'"

The "I'm on a Boat" performer said he felt "sort of numb" as he sat on the ground awaiting help, and that he was "tangled up in the ladder" as well.

Taccone was taken to the hospital, where he was told by doctors that he'd "shattered my pelvis on my lefthand side pretty badly" and that his "sacrum has detached from my spine."**

"A disc is bad now, so they have to chuck that out. It takes a while to schedule the surgery because they wanted to do the front part and back part as well," Taccone added, noting that his recovery time might be around six months. He asid he's already gotten up with assistance, but he'll need "acute rehab" to fully recover.
