When it comes to joining the *Baywatch *reboot, Carmen Electra is drawing a line in the sand.
The actress, model, and singer portrayed the altruistic dreamer Lani McKenzie on season 8 of the action series, which centered on the exploits of a group of Los Angeles County lifeguards. With a *Baywatch *reboot officially in the works, fans have been speculating on whether former cast from Pamela Anderson to David Hasselhoff will return.
"It could be fun" to join the cast of the reboot, which she said she's currently in talks over, Electra recently told *TMZ*. But there's one aspect of the original production she would like to avoid entirely: "I don't know if I'd want to be in the water."**

"It's the ocean, you know?" Electra said, explaining, "I love being around the ocean. Working in it is very different. When you're working in the ocean, it is very complicated."
The cast of the original NBC series, which ran on NBC from 1989-1990 before it entered syndication until its 2001 finale, were asked to perform constant feats of athleticism during production. From the famous slow-motion runs on the sand, to diving into crashing waves, to simulating mid-ocean rescues, *Baywatch *took a toll on the cast that also included Alexandra Paul, Gregory Alan Williams, Yasmine Bleeth, and Wendie Malick.*******Sign up for **'s free daily newsletter* *to get breaking TV news, exclusive first looks, recaps, reviews, interviews with your favorite stars, and more.***
"I could do the slow-motion run. I can definitely do that," Electra added. "And I still look really good in that suit, so that is not a problem. But the water — maybe I could be a captain!"****

Fox Entertainment announced that a *Baywatch *reboot would soon be coming to the small screen, nearly 25 years after the original series ended its 11-season run. No new or returning cast have yet been announced.
A film reboot of the original series, starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, arrived to less-than-stellar reviews in 2017, and in May, O.G. star Nicole Eggert gave some insight into the origins of the series' infamous slo-mo runs.
"We were the guinea pigs the first two seasons of this new look of *Baywatch*," she shared. "Nobody mentioned the slow mo. I heard that [it] happened by accident in the editing room. It was a timing thing, and an editor put it in slow-mo, the run, for a montage, and then everybody fell in love with it."
