Hilary Duff's musical hiatus is so yesterday, as the singer-actress announced Tuesday that she's returning to both TV and music with a new docuseries and album in the works.
The icon of early-aughts pop culture has partnered with Taylor Swift's *Eras Tour* film director Sam Wrench for a new docuseries showcasing an "unfiltered vignette" as the *Lizzie McGuire* alum prepares to launch a new album and first stage performance in 10 years.
"Embracing the ups, downs, and everything in between, fans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade," an official synopsis reads.

As Duff works on her new album with Atlantic Records after signing a new deal with the label, the series is said to offer "vérité footage, stylized interviews, performances, and videos from her personal archive" throughout the production.
Additionally, the album is said to mark a "bold creative chapter" in the 37-year-old's career as a pop star.
Wrench previously helmed Swift's *Eras Tour* concert film to astronomical box office numbers for the genre, with the film earning a staggering $261 million in global ticket sales. Prior to his venture with Duff, he also worked with fellow pop star Sabrina Carpenter on her Netflix holiday special *A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter. *

Since Duff rose to fame on the Disney Channel through her starring role in *Lizzie McGuire*, she has appeared in two additional high-profile TV projects, including the long-running *Younger* and Hulu's *How I Met Your Mother* spin-off *How I Met Your Father*, which ran for two seasons before being canceled in 2023.
Musically, Duff has released five albums — including her 2002 holiday debut, *Santa Claus Lane*.
She released her first proper pop-rock outing, *Metamorphosis*, in 2003, which produced the popular singles "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean."

She also found success with subsequent singles "Wake Up" and "With Love," which both reached the top 40 in the United States as part of her *Most Wanted* and *Dignity* albums, respectively.
