- Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos welcomed an unexpected visitor to their *Live* shot.
- A giant hawk landed on the show's New York City camera, blocking the view.
- "This is nature!" Consuelos exclaimed as the bird perched on the equipment.
Remember that "throuple" situation Kelly Ripa referenced on *Running With the Wolves*? Well, she and Mark Consuelos finally (and temporarily) welcomed a third *Live* cohost to their morning talk show set on Wednesday morning.
After the show's latest live installment returned from commercial, Ripa and Consuelos focused on a surprise guest who had set up perch during the ad break.
"Is that a hawk?" Consuelos asked as the show's outdoor camera — facing the New York City skyline — showed a feathered tail partially blocking the live shot.**

The hawk on 'Live With Kelly and Mark'.
"It looks like it, yeah, that's our live camera," producer Michael Gelman said from the sidelines.
An amazed Consuelos exclaimed, "That's a red-tailed hawk!"
Confirming the news, Ripa added, "That's a hawk," before asking, "Is it sitting on our camera?"
The bird then rustled in place, eliciting excited noises from the audience and cohosts.

"This is nature!" Consuelos exclaimed, while Ripa observed, "This is my kind of TV. I could watch this for hours."
Consuelos urge the show, "Let's keep it rolling," though they eventually had to reset to welcome interview guest and *Downton Abbey* actress, Joanne Froggatt.
The bird came at a particularly buzzy time for *Live* and its relationship to nature's kingdom of creatures.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on 'Live With Kelly and Mark'.
Moments prior, Ripa expressed disdain for slugs, as she said that accidentally stepping on one can completely ruin your evening because of the slime left behind on one's foot.
Ripa previously told a horrific story of insect dismemberment on a prior episode of *Live*, when she told the audience that her grandfather used to kill fireflies for her.
