Mark Hamill considered an exodus from America after President Donald Trump's re-election before his wife offered a sharp rebuttal.

Speaking with *The Times* about the current administration, the actor, 73, recalled presenting his longtime wife, Marilou York, with two options following Trump's 2024 presidential victory: a move to London or Ireland to flee the horrors of America.

"She's very clever," Hamill said. "She didn't respond right away, but a week later she said, 'I'm surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country.' That son of a bitch. I thought, I'm not leaving."

The* Star Wars* alum did not mince words when it came to expressing his frustrations with the Trump administration. "The bullying, the incompetence, the people in place… The only way I can deal with it without going crazy and wanting to open my veins in a warm tub is to look at it like a thick, sprawling political novel," Hamill said.**

"It's entertaining in a way because this could actually be the end," he continued. "Our status in the world has been crippled and that will reverberate for decades. Making Canada a 51st state? Do you know how offensive that is? And then taking over Greenland and renaming the Gulf of Mexico. The distractions are hilarious."**

Despite all of that, however, "I still believe there are more honest, decent people than there are the MAGA crowd," Hamill said. "If I didn't, I'd move back to England."

Hamill lived in London while filming the *Star Wars* films, even welcoming the first of his three children, son Nathan, in the U.K. His home base for the past several decades has been in Los Angeles, with the actor among the many celebrities who had to evacuate their homes due to the wildfires earlier this year. Hamill has shared that his Malibu home survived the Palisades fires.

Should Hamill, a vocal critic of Trump, have fled the U.S., he would've joined a chorus of other famous Americans who've left the country following Trump's election. Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell have both cited the re-election as the reason for their respective moves overseas to Europe.**
