Netflix is breaking up with *The Ultimatum: Queer Love*.
** has confirmed that the queer reality dating series has been canceled after two seasons.
Representatives for the spinoff of the popular *Ultimatum* franchise tell EW that they're "extremely proud" of the series, however it will not be returning for a third season. They also pointed to their current slate of shows featuring LGBTQ+ talent and storylines, including the upcoming scripted series *Boots* and film *Heartstopper Forever*.

*The Ultimatum: Queer Love* premiered in 2023, from *Love Is Blind* creator Chris Coelen, inspired by original series *The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On* (which has been renewed for a fourth season at Netflix).
Netflix has also released international versions of the series with French and South African seasons.
The LGBTQ+ spinoff followed five or six couples of women and nonbinary people in which one of the partners was ready for marriage but the other was holding back. The series split the couples to allow them to explore new relationships to compare to their original partners.

By the end, cast members had to choose to get engaged to their original partner, leave them for their new partner, or be single.

Season 2 debuted in June, with JoAnna Garcia Swisher as the host. The finale ended in a surprising fashion, with five out of the six couples deciding to stay together and get engaged, leading to more of a happy ending that reality TV fans are used to seeing.
