Everyone goes on *Survivor* with the dream of winning the title of Sole Survivor and the $1 million prize that goes with it. But underneath every dream lurks a nightmare, and the nightmare for any *Survivor* contestant is going through the entire casting process, finally making it to Fiji, enduring the silent Ponderosa pre-game, getting on the island, being welcomed by Jeff Probst… and then being the first one voted out of the game two days later.

That sounds absolutely horrible. So why not make it even worse? We here at ** tried our best to light a fire under the cast and give them some extra motivation heading into the game by asking them before filming to come up with a self-imposed punishment should they happen to be the first one out. What will each of them do if they are the first person on the receiving end of a brutal torch snuffing? Read on and find out.

I don't know if I could top Star's answer from last year, but I have a beautiful rooftop pool in DC that I love hosting at over the summer. And so if I get voted out of *Survivor* first, I'm not going to have any apartment parties this summer because I'm going to be too sad. I'm going to literally still be in denial. Someone's going to need to check on me. No pool parties this summer.

Other people might think like, "Oh, I'm going to make myself work out, do burpees." But I do that already, so I've got to think outside the box. My punishment for getting voted off first is that I'm not going to allow myself to eat cinnamon rolls for a year. I am obsessed with cinnamon rolls. I love cinnamon rolls and that would really hurt me. But I would deserve it.

I'd say to stop drinking beer for a year, but I feel like you need the beer to get over the going out first. So I'd probably just have to do the dishes for the next year for my wife.

I would go to a strictly straight bar and have to socialize and just be in that aura.

I am the commissioner of a fantasy football league. We've been going for about 10 years now. I'm a Denver Broncos fan so we're called the Tim Tebow Appreciation Society. We have punishments every year, and I lost for the first time, this last season that we just wrapped up and I had to do the punishment. I had to dress in a Tim Tebow shirt that's literally his face collaged all over it, but it's when he got that monk haircut where they shaved his head. And so I've got fryer Tebow, and I had to go sing karaoke in a big public room. I had to sing "Pink Pony Club."

So maybe I'll do something like that. If I lose, I will wear a collage shirt of Jeff Probst's face, and I'll go up and sing "Survivor" from Destiny's Child. I love punishments like that because it's a game, and if I get voted out first, I'll be devastated. But everybody will, because you don't come here to lose first, but at the end of the day, it's a game and you come here to learn something new about yourself. And hopefully if I get sent out, I'll get sent out in a way that fills me in on a blind spot that I have.

Alright, my punishment is that I won't be allowed to watch the NBA playoffs. And I say that because I'm a diehard OKC Thunder fan and we're finally in this position that we might win this year. And so if I had to miss that, that would hurt my heart. I was there since the very beginning.

Growing up, I was big into TV, and Disney Channel original movies are my thing. And I actually have the *Camp Rock* soundtrack and the *High School Musical* soundtrack memorized. So to all of *Survivor* Twitter and *Survivor* Reddit, if I am the first boot, I will do a two-minute performance for any *High School Musical* or *Camp Rock* soundtrack that the fans vote on.

My *Survivor* punishment is no food other than what you would find on a *Survivor* island. Or at least things like rice, coconut maybe. What else do they have out here? Cassava. Maybe some fish too. You get a little protein in there, but the *Survivor* diet for the rest of the 26 days.

If I get voted out first, I will do CrossFit for a month. I've never done it and it doesn't look like anything I want to do.

So if I get voted out of *Survivor 49* first, then I will have to apply to *Big Brother*, because I think I'd rather die.

My hair is my thing, so because I know it's not going to happen, I'll say I'm going to shave my head if I get voted at first.

If I'm the first person voted out, I'd give up watching horror movies for a whole year, which is basically an eternity for me. But the real horror? I'd force myself to say my favorite *Survivor* player is Randy Bailey from *Gabon* and not Jeremy Collins when asked. That's when you'll know I've truly suffered.

My family does a *Survivor* every Christmas. We do our own thing, and if I get voted out first, my punishment will be that I'm going to not participate. I will just be the Jeff because I don't deserve to play.

My punishment is that I will wake up before work every day for a year to go to the gym because clearly the reason that I was voted out first was because I am the smallest dude and I need to up my threat level a little bit.

Shannon Fairweather

My punishment processing process would be a good 10 pages of journaling. Let's really sit down and dig into this. And then maybe a strict hour-long meditation. Just really reflect on all of it. And to be honest with you, I'm probably going to do that either way.

Matt Williams

If I get voted out first, I will dress like my lead guitar player on stage for an entire show. He is great and we love each other to death. He's religious and comes from the church world, while I swear every other word and have songs about dildos. So sometimes he comes in and he's very buttoned up and I sometimes make [my band] wear the outfits that I choose for them so that they're not left to their own devices. But I can be Blake onstage, and he would probably think that was the greatest thing ever.
