Paris Jackson is clearing up any misconceptions about her involvement with the upcoming biopic of her father, Michael Jackson, simply titled *Michael. *

While hosting the amfAR benefit gala in Venice, Italy, star Colman Domingo — who plays controversial Jackson family patriarch Joe in the biopic — told PEOPLE that Paris and her brother, Prince Jackson, were "very much in support of our film."

"I'm excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that's a nice way for us to be together," Domingo added, noting that he's "chatted briefly" with Paris about the project, and she's been "nothing but lovely and warm" to him.

Paris, who was also attending the amfAR benefit gala, responded to Domingo's comments via her Instagram Story, calling the actor out directly for alluding that she had been "very helpful" during the production. (PEOPLE has amended its story to exclude the note.)

She continued, "I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest [and] didn't sit right with me and when they didn't address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and godspeed."

The Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic about the late King of Pop stars the late singer's nephew Jaafar Jackson as Michael and will be split into two separate films. The film will follow the singer's life and career, from his early days as a member of family group the Jackson 5 through to his successes as a solo artist. *Michael* will trace Jackson's triumphs and tragedies as it examines both his personal struggles and his most iconic performances.

Included in the film are Jackson family members, plus major players in Michael's career like Berry Gordy, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones, and more.

Reps for Domingo, Jackson, and Fuqua did not immediately return **'s request for comment.

Paris posted follow-up videos after seemingly getting questions from her followers about her comments.

"I wasn't involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that [production] was not actually going to address your notes at all," she claimed. "So I just butted out and left it alone because it's not my project."

"They're going to make whatever they're going to make," she added. "A big reason why I haven't said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they're gonna be happy with it."

Paris said she likened the experience to families and friends who spoke out against major biopics like the Queen/Freddie Mercury film *Bohemian Rhapsody* and the Mötley Crüe adaptation of *The Dirt.*

"The thing about these biopics is, it's Hollywood. It's fantasyland. It's not real. But it's sold to you as real," she declared, suggesting that the same thing is happening with *Michael*. "The narrative is being controlled. And there's a lot of inaccuracy and there's a lot of just full-blown lies. At the end of the day, that doesn't really fly with me."

She continued, "I don't really like dishonesty. I spoke up, I wasn't heard, I f---ed off. Y'all are gonna like the f---ing movie. So just, go watch it, go enjoy it, do whatever, leave me out of it."

Paris said that although people have theorized that she isn't involved in the film because she resents her father, the truth is she would rather not take part in "a movie that's filled with inaccuracies."

"That's not my truth. That's not where I'm coming from," she said. "I just prefer honesty over sales and monetary gain. I kind of just don't want anything to do with that. So I'm gonna f--k off again and I'm gonna keep minding my business. I suggest you do the same."

The actress also clarified that she had met Domingo twice, "once at a birthday party and once at the amfAR thing the other night," adding that "both were hella brief interactions."

Despite Paris' qualms, *Michael* does have the backing of the Jackson estate. Fuqua (*Training Day*) directed from a script by John Logan (*Skyfall*, *Gladiator*) with Lionsgate and Universal Pictures International slated to release it in April 2026.**
