Though a work of fiction, the series touches on real-world issues like #MeToo, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Capitol attack, and even the war in Ukraine.

She mentioned that "some preliminary casting" is already underway and even had Colbert audition for a fake role on season 5, joking about how available he'll be once *The Late Show* wraps up in June 2026.

It's hard to imagine the series without Aniston and Witherspoon front and center as Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson, so chances are high they'll be back for the next round of newsroom mayhem. Viewers can also expect to see plenty of familiar faces back in the mix, including Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm.

But what's less certain is whether some of season 4's new additions, including Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons, will be back for the next chapter. There's been no word yet, but here's hoping at least a few of them come back.
