- Tyler Perry writes, directs, and executive produces the Netflix thriller *Beauty in Black*.

- Season 2, part 1 debuted on Sept. 11, 2025, focusing on the rise of Taylor Polidore Williams' Kimmie within the Bellarie dynasty.

- Part 1 ends on several salacious (and bloody) cliffhangers.

Tyler Perry's gone full sicko mode with *Beauty in Black*, a soapy thriller about an exotic dancer who infiltrates the lives of the Bellarie beauty dynasty and disrupts its connections to a seedy criminal underbelly.

The first part of the series' second season is now streaming on Netflix, picking up where season 1 left off while introducing a number of salacious new storylines. Lest we forget, last season wrapped with Bellarie patriarch Horace (Ricco Ross) proposing to Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), the dancer who previously ran afoul of a human trafficking scheme with ties to the family. Horace is dying of cancer, and, disappointed with his dynasty, looks to install outsider Kimmie at the head of the family business. This, obviously, doesn't sit well with the extended Bellarie family.

Season 2 finds Kimmie navigating her new lifestyle of wealth and privilege — alongside old friends Rain (Amber Reign Smith) and Angel (Xavier Smalls) and sister Sylvie (Bailey Tippen) — as Horace looks for a miracle cure for his cancer. The Bellarie clan, meanwhile, is deep in their own drama, and Kimmie's rise to power looms like a Sword of Damocles.

This batch of eight episodes is only the first part of *Beauty in Black*'s second season, and it sets up a number of power plays and potential calamities. Below, we break down the *Beauty in Black* season 2, part 1 finale.

Does Kimmie take over Beauty in Black?

Yes, part 1 of season 2 culminates with Kimmie arriving for her first day as COO of Beauty in Black.

Prior to her arrival in the office, Horace helps get her up to speed, but she quickly proves adept at the business end of things, much to the chagrin of Horace's ex Olivia (Debbi Morgan), brother Norman (Richard Lawson), son Roy (Julian Horton), and daughter-in-law Mallory (Crystle Stewart), who's long been the brains of the operation.

In the season 2, part 1 finale, Kimmie faces intimidation from every corner of the Bellarie family, but manages to maintain a fierce, unshakeable front.

In a meeting with the Bellaries and their lawyer, Varney (Terrell Carter), she criticizes Beauty in Black's marketing as "out of date" and declares she wants to move their ad spending out of local businesses and into online hubs. She also reveals her plans to move production to China, which can save them millions and help pay off the debt they've accrued.

Her cutthroat approach inflames Olivia and Norman, but she truly draws their ire when she reveals she knows about their secret shell companies, which they've been using to procure kickbacks from their ads. If she hadn't already made enemies of the pair, that certainly did the trick.

Does Kimmie get revenge on Jules?

Kimmie spent a great deal of season 1 fighting for her life, not to mention the life of her sister, after crossing the human trafficking operation unfolding at the strip club where she worked. Along with Norman, the Bellarie family's head of security, Jules (Charles Malik Whitfield), was a key cog in that operation — and Kimmie hasn't forgotten that.

After meeting with the family, she brings Jules into her new office. She asserts her dominance by slapping him until he calls her "Mrs. Bellarie." He warns her not to push him, as he has "folders on everybody."

He continues, "Which means I got this family by the balls. Which also means I got you by the balls." If she comes for him, he warns, he will "make it nasty" for her. After all, he knows about the strip club employees she killed last season, and has the power to reopen those investigations.

She's not intimidated. "This s--- don't mean nothing to me," she says. "I'm the type of bitch that'll burn the house down with me in it just to get to a motherf---er that's my enemy."

To show him how serious she is, she calls his house, speaks to his wife, and invites herself over to dinner. She specifically brings up his children on the phone, which drives him into a frenzy.

Quite pointedly, he tells her to stay away from his children. That threat, as we're about to see, will resound by the end of the episode.

Wait, did Rain kill a guy?

Well, not exactly, but it's looking good for Glen (Ace Small).

Who is Glen? Well, Glen is a young, hunky stablehand on the Bellarie estate who found a spark with Sylvie. But when Rain walks in on Glen and Sylvie getting busy in the barn's hayloft, she incorrectly assumes Sylvie is being assaulted. She jabs a pitchfork at Glen, who promptly falls off the balcony, smashing his head on the concrete below.

After killing it on her first day at Beauty in Black, Kimmie arrives back at the estate to see the mess Rain made. The good news? Glen isn't dead. The bad news? He's still unconscious and won't just be able to shake off these injuries. The worst news? Glen is Jules' son.

How is Jules going to react when he finds out his son is on death's door — and Kimmie's friends are responsible?

Why is Charles chainsawing a bunch of dead bodies?

Season 2, part 1 of *Beauty in Black* ends on a ridiculous (and gut-churning) note, with Varney walking in on Horace and Olivia's other son, Charles (Steven G. Norfleet) taking a chainsaw to a trio of dead bodies inside his home. How did we get here?

Well, earlier in the season, three strip club employees took it upon themselves to try and rob Charles, but Charles shot and killed each of them in the process. He asked Varney and Jules for help (without giving them the full details), and they both blew him off. As such, he felt the need to handle it himself by cutting up their bodies for easier disposal.

He's only halfway through the process when Varney walks in on him.

What happens at the end of Beauty in Black season 2, part 1?

Covered in blood and viscera, Charles and Varney's clean-up mission is interrupted by the arrival of three masked, armed assailants who announce themselves as police officers.

Is this about the bodies? Or the robbery? Or their no-longer-secret affair? And are they *actually* police? That's a question for the back half of the season to answer.**
