Jennifer Lopez is a literal vision in the newest trailer for *Kiss of the Spider Woman*.
In it, she sings, dances, twirls, and struts all over the stage, screen, and, most notably, inside the imagination of Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. Her scenes in the trailer, which show her belting out some of the musical's most famous tunes while wearing dazzling costumes, act as a stark technicolor contrast to the bleak prison walls Molina and cellmate ValentÃn (Diego Luna) find themselves behind.
Hailing from *Dreamgirls* and *Beauty and the Beast* director Bill Condon, *Kiss of the Spider Woman* follows ValentÃn, a political prisoner, and his cellmate Molina, who form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Lopez).

Condon, who also wrote the screenplay, returns to the world of movie musicals with the adaptation, which is based on the acclaimed 1976 novel *Kiss of the Spider Woman* by Argentinian writer Manuel Puig, and the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical of the same name by the multiple Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally (*Master* *Class*, *Ragtime*) and composer/lyricist team John Kander and Fred Ebb (*Cabaret*, *Chicago*).
The original Broadway musical won seven Tony awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Chita Rivera, who famously originated the title role on stage.

The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, where it received a standing ovation that left Lopez in tears. The star called the role a "dream come true."
"I've been waiting for this moment my whole life," Lopez said at the festival. "The truth is, when you talk about being in musicals, the reason that I even wanted to be in this business was because my mom would sit me in front of the TV, [*West Side Story*] would come on once a year, on Thanksgiving, I remember. And I was just mesmerized, and I was like, 'That's what I want to do.'
"That was always my goal," she continued, fighting back tears. "And this is the first time I actually got to do it, so it's a big deal. [Bill Condon] made my dream come true. I think of Chita Rivera, I think of Fred Ebb, I think of Terrence McNally, and all of the love that they poured into this, and it's just an honor to be able to be part of this movie."**
