After weeks of lashing out at late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert, Donald Trump has now set his sights on Seth Meyers. **

The 79-year-old president took to Truth Social at almost two in the morning today to express his outrage over a "sick rumor" he'd heard that NBC had extended Meyers' *Late Night *contract. **

"There is a sick rumor going around that Fake News NBC extended the contract of one of the least talented Late Night television hosts out there, Seth Meyers," Trump wrote. "He has no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence, and the Personality of an insecure child."

He continued, "So, why would Fake News NBC extend this dope's contract. I don't know, but I'll definitely be finding out!!!"

The timing of Trump's rant is curious, given that Deadline reported over a year ago in May 2024 that NBC had extended Meyers' contract through 2028. A representative for* Late Night *offered no additional comment in response to the president's remarks.

The former Trump Steaks founder began his battle against late-night by gloating over* The Late Show with Stephen Colbert*'s surprise cancellation last month, writing, "I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!"**

Trump proceeded to double down on his Kimmel claim in an additional post, noting that the *Jimmy Kimmel Live* host would be "next to go" with Fallon following shortly after him at* The Tonight Show.* However, like Meyers, Fallon has already renewed his contract at NBC until 2028. **

Like his contemporaries, Meyers often pokes fun at the ongoing actions of the president and his administration on *Late Night*. In one of his latest episodes, the host called out Trump for not bringing up issues like healthcare, infrastructure, or inflation during his recent press briefings.

"Donald Trump doesn't care," Meyers said. "He pretended to care during the campaign the same way you pretend to love apple picking when you're dating someone."

Still, Meyers admitted on a recent episode of Dax Shepard's *Armchair Expert *podcast that he does have concerns over the future of *Late Night *amid a rapidly changing television landscape.**

"There is this weird thing that I feel like I shifted from fearing that I wouldn't be good enough, and now my fear is weirdly more outside of my control — which is just at some point, the ecosystem might not support it," Meyers said. "I guess that's better than thinking it's your fault. But it is weird to not feel any control over it."

He added, "I sometimes think the body of my work matters enough that the world knows Seth Meyers in a way that I'm happy with. I've taken my opportunity to build a thing. I know what it means, and I think other people know what it means. So I'm happy about that."
