*Big Brother *alum Kyland Young is opening up about his previously secret relationship with *Big Brother *winner Taylor Hale before they compete together as a team on* The Amazing Race.*

Young — who has also appeared on multiple seasons of *The Challenge *— posted a video on Twitter with a long statement addressing his past relationship history with Hale, as well as the "hateful" trolls questioning the validity of their romance.

"I don't usually address random comments, especially when they're based on complete nonsense from people who don't know what they're talking about," Young says in the video. "But seeing real harm done to someone I care deeply about is unacceptable, so I wanted to set the record straight: Yes, Taylor and I dated, but with the exception of one mention of a single dinner about two years ago, we've kept things incredibly private."

Young reveals that he and Hale have had "multiple periods" over "the past couple of years" where they were dating.

"And even times where we were fully boyfriend and girlfriend," he adds. "We don't talk about our relationship, we haven't posted a lot of stuff together, but obviously that all changes with *The Amazing Race*. And in many ways, we're really excited to invite people into this part of our lives. But that's come with some complications, which is why I wanted to make this video."

Young goes on to explain that relationships are already complicated before adding in the factor of living in the public eye as reality stars, but he and Hale were "intentional" about working on their relationship together "briefly before the *Race*, during filming, and even just after." But seeing "people who don't know the details" about their lives question the "authenticity" of their relationship has been "annoying and hurtful."

"I see people confused trying to piece together timelines, and of course, you're confused — we haven't been talking about it," Young says. "You don't have the information because the only people that actually have it haven't given it to you. So let me be clear, even though we're not a couple right now, we did date. And there was no blowup with huge fights. There wasn't cheating or scandals or any of the wild things I've seen online. We had our struggles, and there were definitely times when I let Taylor down and caused her pain, and I fully own that. But I'm not going to let people twist any of this into something it wasn't or make excuses to harass me, other people, and especially Taylor."

Young explains they're not a couple "right now" due to the "current circumstances" of their lives.

"However, I feel like it also seems worth noting that I don't and haven't had another girlfriend besides Taylor in years," he adds. "Yes, I date, but you guys labeling every girl that I hang out with [as romantic] is lazy, inaccurate, and has even been harmful to some of the women in my life, like business associates, friends, even family have been harassed. It needs to stop."

The reality star reveals that he's pursuing legal action against online trolls who have been harassing him and Hale.

"As usual, this harassment comes from faceless accounts, most likely sad, angry, pathetic individuals accurately referred to as trolls," Young says. "Normally I don't respond to trolling... I'm appreciative of all views, but making up damaging stories is different. It's wrong. In some cases, it's illegal."

Young says he's working with a team of lawyers to address "the more serious, defamatory claims."

"And the offenders should know that anonymity won't protect you — platforms, including X and TikTok, all of them can and will release your information if required by the law," he says. "At the very least, your account will be permanently removed. So consider this your warning to stop and delete anything you've posted that breaks platform guidelines or especially the law, because there will be consequences... If you'd rather spread drama anonymously or hate or anything else, know that your lies have consequences."

Young explains that he's taking these steps to protect Hale because, even though they're not a couple now, she is "still someone I love and care about and think the world of." He adds that whatever happens between them in the future, they will "figure it out privately before sharing it publicly."

"Whether we end up in a relationship again or not, that's for us, not for you, until we decide," he says. "So unless you hear it from us directly, don't assume you know what's going on, because you don't."

Young and Hale have never appeared on a reality show together before competing as a team on the upcoming season of *The Amazing Race*. Young debuted on *Big Brother 23*, finishing the season in fourth place. He then transitioned over to *The Challenge*, appearing on *USA 1, Battle for a New Champion, *and* Battle of the Eras*, during which he made the final and finished in fourth place.

Meanwhile, Hale debuted on *Big Brother 24*, where she became the first Black woman to win the show. She was also the runner-up for *Big Brother Reindeer Games.*
