Max Ehrich's mom Rhonda Ehrich is speaking out after news broke of her son's arrest on domestic violence charges.

In a lengthy statement posted to her Instagram page on Friday, Rhonda called reports of her son attacking her "completely fabricated."

"A short video clip of an altercation that is being exaggerated for clickbait does not discern the truth of what did and didn't happen," she continued. "The only villain in this is the fact that my son was kidnapped and forced to ingest a dangerous substance. My son is my best friend and one of the best people I know."

Rhonda wrote that Max lives a "clean, healthy and sober" lifestyle, and only wanted to use his platform "to share love and goodness to the world."

"These public exaggerations are harmful to my family. Falsely stating such is also defamation," she added, claiming that she will be "pursuing all legal avenues" to clear Max's name "where forced substance abuse created these conflicts."

Rhonda wrote that she has "struggled" as the actor's mother as he was "forced" to take drugs and reiterates her claim that Max had been "kidnapped."

"He now is in rehab and he is getting the treatment he needs," Rhonda declared. "A mother knows who their son is and isn't. Those who know the real Max Ehrich know him for the kind, respectful, loving and talented young man that I'm proud to say is my incredible inspirational, brilliant, clean living amazing son. Max is devastated and extremely apologetic that the world had to watch him fall from grace. At this time we as a family are asking for our privacy and healing prayers."

Rhonda's statement follows Max's arrest in Florida on Wednesday. The ex-fiancè of Demi Lovato and *Young and the Restless* alum is accused of domestic violence and was arrested on one charge of battery on a person 65 years or older according to inmate records reviewed by **.

While the record doesn't detail the events of Max's arrest, TMZ reported that the actor was allegedly abusing nitrous oxide before allegedly attacking his mother while livestreaming.**

Cops were called by a neighbor, whose home Ehrich's mom went to after he allegedly became violent with her during an argument. She allegedly told police that her son "heavily abuses inhalants," TMZ reported.

Reference to the Leo Baker Act, another term for the Florida Mental Health Act, was also included in his arrest records. The Baker Act applies to people with mental illness in need of crisis services.

After his release, Max took to Instagram himself, reposting his mother's statement with a caption reading, "Love you mom," in all caps.

The actor also shared his own statement, telling followers that he was "on my way to rehab."

"I am so sorry you all had to watch me fall from grace. All thoughts and prayers are appreciated," he captioned a photo of himself inside a car, throwing up the peace sign. "I want to take this moment to share that be careful with posting your locations on social media and in general talking to strangers. Being kidnapped was the most traumatising experience and I am so thankful to be alive."

Max went on to allege that "what they got me hooked on is something that is sold at local stores and should be banned along with anything else toxic," before concluding, "I hope to use my platform to spread peace, love, and safety for all. One love, one heart, let's get together and be alright. I love you all so much."**

In the days leading up to his arrest, Ehrich was posting erratically on social media. His most recent Instagram posts were screenshots of FaceTime calls with various friends, one of whom commented, "I'm well aware and was trying to help. Not sure why this is posted."**

The comments section on various posts are filled with concern from his fans and followers. One person encouraged him to "go get help." They wrote, "If you keep going like this you're going to die."**
