Mark Ruffalo didn't give anything away this time.

The Oscar-nominated actor was a guest on Thursday's episode of *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*, where there host teased him about why he hasn't been mentioned as part of the cast for Marvel's upcoming movie *Avengers: Doomsday*.

That's despite the fact that the *Task* star has played the comic-book character of the Hulk and his alter ego Bruce Banner in several previous films of the franchise.****

"Can you say why you weren't in the *Avengers* trailer?" Fallon asked him. "Every time you're on the show, you give a spoiler and you get in trouble."

Ruffalo answered, "They decided that it was better to get rid of me than for me to tell the end of the next movie."

To which Fallon responded, "All right, that makes sense."

The late-night host has a point. Ruffalo has a history of saying too much about his superhero films, though it isn't always on Fallon's NBC show.

In May 2018, it became clear he had spilled details on the ending of *Avengers: Infinity War* months before the movie was released.**

"Wait 'til you see this next one," Ruffalo had told *Good Morning America* at the D23 convention. "Ha… everybody dies." He then says half of them die, which was accurate.

His interview partner, costar Don Cheadle, cut in immediately: "Dude! Dude." Ruffalo attempted to recover and even asked, "Can we rewind that part?"

There have been other times.

However, it's unclear whether Ruffalo will be part of the *Avengers: Doomsday* cast, which features countless of his fellow Marvel stars. The official cast announcement, released in March, included dozens of alums from the studio's projects, such as Chris Hemsworth; Simu Liu; Robert Downey Jr.; Letitia Wright; Anthony Mackie; Ian McKellen; Vanessa Kirby; and Florence Pugh.

Ruffalo will reprise his role in next year's *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, which stars Tom Holland. The film is set to be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
