Love is in the air for Regretting You costars Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames. The recently released romantic drama, which is bestselling author Colleen Hoover's latest film adaptation, sees Grace, 19, and Thames, 18, play high school sweethearts — but it's their rumored offscreen romance that has people talking.
Fans first began to speculate that something morewas happening between The Handmaid's Tale actress and How to Train Your Dragon actor earlier this year, when a TikTok of them sharing a playfully staged kiss went viral. Grace and Thames have seemingly been inseparable since, and were even seen holding hands while strolling the streets of New York City in June.
Though neither has clarified the status of their relationship, the duo has continued to fuel romance rumors with their frequent appearances in each other's TikTok videos and Instagram posts — and how often they gush about each other. Their chemistry, as fans have repeatedly pointed out, is undeniable.
From grand gestures to improvised kisses, here's everything to know about Grace and Thames's rumored relationship.
Grace and Thames had a 'Tangled'-inspired evening
Tangled is one of my favorite movies of all time," Grace told Entertainment Tonight during a joint interview with Thames in October. "It was always my dream to go to those lantern festivals, and somebody took me to a lantern festival."

The What We Hide actress didn't explicitly say who that somebody was, though she pointed and smiled at Thames, who replied, "That's really sweet of them. I sound like a keeper."
Grace continued, "I got to draw all over the lantern and put it in the water, and it was one of the sweetest things anybody has ever taken me to do."
They fueled romance rumors with a recent video
In mid-October, Grace posted a video on TikTok that bolstered romance rumors. Set to Beyoncé's track, "All Night," Thames is seen lifting Grace up and carrying her down a hallway. Grace captioned the clip "giggling and kicking my feet."
Thames called Grace 'one of the most driven people' he's ever met
"She is such an incredible actress. It's insane to watch her," Thames told Seventeen in June. "She is one of the most driven people I've ever met in my life. Every day I'm on set with her, I just want to be as good as Mckenna. She's such a sweet person, and getting to do this movie with her is so cool."
Their potential romance is Sabrina Carpenter-approved
Though Grace and Thames haven't confirmed a romantic relationship between the two of them, Sabrina Carpenter appears to be on board with the idea. In August, Grace posted a video of Thames lifting her onto his shoulders as Carpenter's "Slim Pickins" plays.
Carpenter commented on the video, "♥️omg," which has since received more than 125,000 likes.
Thames also commented, "Ur cute," to which Grace replied, "as if we're not on the phone as I posted this😭❤️😂"
Grace and Thames improvised 'a lot of kisses'
When it came to selling their onscreen romance, Grace and Thames decided to take creative liberties. While chatting with People in October, the duo, who play lovestruck teens in Regretting You, said that they improvised "a lot of kisses" that didn't always make it into the final cut.

In one scene, Thames's character elaborately asks Grace's character to the prom. Thames and Grace felt like the moment warranted a kiss — so they went for it — even though it wasn't actually written into the script.
"And so we did — like, every take," Thames said of their improvised smooches.
Grace added, "That's the best part. We're watching the movie. And we did that, and it didn't make it!"
They've gushed about their 'instant' connection
Thames previously spoke of his chemistry with Grace, telling Pop Sugar in October, "It was so instant with Mckenna. She's so sweet."
Grace seconded the emotion, adding, "I met Mason, and I was like, 'How am I supposed to have fun with anybody else?' Every single time I'm doing something, like, 'God, I wish Mason was here. This would be so much more fun if Mason was here."

Thames has continued to praise his Regretting You costar. The Black Phone actor told Seventeen in June that he and Grace hang out "all the time."
"Not too long ago, we went to the aquarium and just walked around. She has an aquarium playlist in her AirPods," he said. "So she had one in her ear, and I had one in mine while we looked at sharks."
