- *Doc *stars Molly Parker as a doctor restarting her career after losing eight years of memory.
- Felicity Huffman and Emma Pfitzer Price join the season 2 cast.
- The second season premiered on Sunday, Sept. 14, with new episodes airing Tuesdays on Fox.**
One of Fox's biggest hits right now is *Doc*, whose inaugural season was so successful that the network ordered a full 22-episode season 2 before the first one had even ended.
Inspired by real events and based on the popular Italian series *Nelle tue mani*, the medical drama centers on Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker), who's forced to start over after a car accident wipes out the last eight years of her memory, including a divorce. Upon losing her position as the chief of internal medicine at Westside Hospital, Amy is starting all over again as an intern, trying to salvage her once-stellar career.
Season 1 ended with a pretty shocking finale, as Dr. Richard Miller (Scott Wolf), the acting chief of internal medicine, was fired and stripped of his medical license. But that role won't be vacant too long, as someone new is taking over in season 2.
That said, read on to learn all about the *Doc *season 2 cast, from the new faces to the returning stars.

Emmy nominee Molly Parker, who plays Dr. Amy Larsen, the former chief of internal medicine now downgraded to an intern, is among the many stars returning for *Doc *season 2.
Co-showrunner Hank Steinberg recently told TV Insider that not only will Parker's character continue to regain her memories, but her love triangle with Jake and Michael will become even more complicated.

"Amy shared a lifetime of building a life together and a family with one man, and yet there's something very elemental and chemical and kind of pure in her connection with Jake to the point that it's so evident something between them kind of no matter when in their life points they meet," he explained. "There's that natural tension between an older, deeper love and something that's newer and hungrier and it feels chemical and elemental."
Parker has decades of experience, but she's arguably best known for her roles on the shows *Deadwood *(2004–2006),* House of Cards *(2014–2016), *Goliath *(2016), and *Lost in Space *(2018–2021). Ecker reprises his role as chief resident Dr. Jake Heller in *Doc *season 2. Following the show's second season renewal, the actor told Collider* *he was eager to flesh out his character a bit more.
"We do have a lot more episodes to fill this season, and it would be nice to see a little bit of that family life," he said. "I think that'll help round out the character for the audience to see things outside of the hospital and outside of the relationship with Amy."

Her career took a major hit in 2019 amid the "Varsity Blues" college admissions scandal. She pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, and was sentenced to 14 days in jail.
Now, Huffman is back on TV and joining *Doc *season 2 as Dr. Joan Ridley, Amy's former mentor and the new chief of internal medicine at Westside.
Steinberg described Joan to TV Insider as "a tough, old-school feminist, big believer in female empowerment and self-made and a really interesting, eccentric personality."
He continued, "She is double boarded in internal medicine and surgery and has traveled the world doing Doctors With Borders type of medicine, so she's been all over the world ... She's tough and exacting on the other doctors in a similar way to how Amy is, but she's smoother with how she does it."

In an interview with TV Fanatic, Walker shared that TJ's age and background are what drew him to the role. "You're watching somebody who was a combat medic and then went straight to the hospital. What he's able to do at this time and this age is very fun to watch. And I wanted to be a part of something like that," he said.
Charlotte Fountain-Jardim as Katie Hamda

"So that we'll get to see a little bit in [Episode] 2, and we'll get to feel some of that dynamic in [Episode] 3, when Katie is over at the house with them and the new baby and there's some talk about Amy and the discomfort that comes with that."
