Meryl Streep — in full Miranda Priestly hair — and her *Devil Wears Prada 2* cast mates Stanley Tucci and Simone Ashley apparently held a grand summit for international fashion affairs — including the spelling of "Gabbana" and the mechanisms of trickle-down cerulean in the retail space — as they met with Anna Wintour after a fashion show in Milan.

In new video shared by *Vogue* (below), the fashion magazine where writer Lauren Weisberger worked under Wintour and got her inspiration to write her book *The Devil Wears Prada*, Streep, Tucci, and Ashley converse with Wintour after watching the Dolce & Gabbana spring 2026 collection strut down an Italian runway.

Other images circulating feature Streep and Tucci seated next to each other at the show, with Ashley sitting behind them. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the trio were there to film scenes for *The Devil Wears Prada 2.*

In a tongue-in-cheek article, *Vogue* reported on Streep, Tucci, and Ashley's in-character cameos at the show, noting that "Miranda Priestly made a surprise appearance" while "flanked by *Runway*'s long-suffering art director, Nigel Kipling, and a mystery new hire," the latter bit offering new character details for Ashley.

The post appeared to tease other details about the plot.

"So why has Priestly chosen to descend from her ivory tower at Elias Clarke Publications' Manhattan HQ and rejoin fashion's front line? Priestly famously stepped back from public engagements within the fashion industry following 2006's warts-and-all documentary exposé, *The Devil Wears Prada*," the article read.

"How are you?" Wintour asks Streep in *Vogue*'s video, with Streep telling the legendary fashion editor that she's "so beautiful," before another clip shows them standing beneath a large work of art hanging on the wall.

"This is my first fashion show," Streep tells Wintour, who exclaims, "You're kidding!"**

Following an aspiring journalist named Andy Sachs (Hathaway) who begrudgingly takes a job at *Runway*, a fashion publication headed up by a ruthless editor, the aforementioned Priestly (Streep), and her impeccably styled staffers (Tucci, Blunt), *The Devil Wears Prada *became a runaway success upon its initial release. The film grossed $327 million at the global box office and earned two Oscar nominations — one for Streep's performance and another for *Sex and the City* icon Patricia Field's costumes.

Weisberger wrote the book with inspiration from her time at Vogue, with Priestly reportedly being closely modeled after Wintour. The production even reportedly modeled Priestly's office in the movie after Wintour's at *Vogue. *

"Anna came to the first screening in New York. She sat right in front of me and David with her daughter and wore Prada, which shows she has a great sense of humor!" McKenna told EW in our 15th-anniversary oral history cast reunion in 2021.

Added Frankel, "I remember her daughter nudging her through the screening, like, 'They got that right!' … A couple years later, I was at a tennis tournament in Miami … seated behind her, and when it was over, I made the effort to introduce myself — 'I'm David Frankel, the director of *The Devil Wears Prada*' — and [she took her] hand out of [my handshake]!"

Elsewhere in the oral history, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who had a small role as a *Runway* employee, talked to EW about what the film got right about the fashion industry.

"She's a more reserved person, [but] she was always very nice to me," Bündchen said of Wintour at the time, adding that she didn't recall any negative sentiment in her fashion circles. "I think she loved the movie. I mean, I'd be happy if Meryl Streep played me!"

In an interview this month with *The New Yorker Radio Hour* podcast, Wintour — who recently transitioned out of her longtime role as *Vogue*'s editor in chief — admitted her true feelings about the movie.

"First of all, it was Meryl Streep, which, fantastic," Wintour said. "And then I went to see the film, and I found it highly enjoyable. It was very funny."
