*Anne Rice's Talamasca: The Secret Order *is recruiting its most chaotic agent for its next *Interview With the Vampire* crossover.
** has your exclusive first look at *Weeds* alum Justin Kirk's return as shady, opportunistic Talamasca agent Raglan James. First seen in *Interview With the Vampire* season 2, Raglan will next appear in episode 4 of new series *Talamasca*.
"I love being Raglan James," Kirk tells EW. "I started with the mothership, *Interview With the Vampire*, and when I heard that there was going to be a show about the Talamasca — because that's where my character comes from and there's not a book per se about that — I assumed they'd be calling me at some point. And I'm delighted that they did."
The six-episode first season of AMC's latest Anne Rice TV universe series follows the titular secretive society that tracks witches, vampires, and all other supernatural creatures around the world. Nicholas Denton plays the Talamasca's newest recruit, Guy Anatole, and showrunners John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty reveal seasoned veteran Raglan arrives to teach Guy a thing or two about his new employers.

"He comes in at a moment in the season where we get this shot of adrenaline from his character," Lafferty tells EW. "Raglan's always looking out for himself and is a real lone wolf. There is something that our main character, Guy, has been tasked to retrieve, and it just might be that Raglan is on a similar pursuit."
Naive newcomer Guy might not think he has much in common with the wily and cynical Raglan, but he soon learns that they're more alike than he thought.
"There is a perspective on navigating your way through the world of the Talamasca that Guy hasn't thought of yet, and Raglan has some insights as to a third way of thinking about this entire world," Lafferty says.
Meanwhile Hancock cryptically adds, "The chaos from what Raglan achieves [in this episode] could translate, if they so choose, into other shows."
While Raglan is still employed by the Talamasca at the time of this appearance, that could change imminently.**
"It seems to be a mystery to what degree he's loyal to the Talamasca at this stage, and how much he actually has Guy's interests at heart," Kirk teases. "We don't know if he's trying to screw him over. He is a goddamn mystery."

The actor loves how much Raglan is "an enigma" at this stage in the Anne Rice TV universe, because (spoiler alert!) book readers know he'll ultimately become a body-snatching villain — watch out, Lestat (Sam Reid).
"He's in the fifth book, *Tale of The Body Thief,* when he's already been kicked out of the Talamasca for bad behavior," Kirk says. "But so far from what we've seen, he's still in it, so they're kind of making it up as they go along."
Consider each current Raglan appearance as his origin story until *Interview With the Vampire *reaches book five — if/when that ever happens.
"I read *Body Thief* to try to get some clues about [his future], but we're just kind of going for it," Kirk says. "I'm not even sure [if we'll get to tell that story], to be honest with you. I am occasionally preparing my Sam Reid imitation if I have to in fact switch bodies, so every time [I come back], I'll say, 'Am I still me?' I'm just ready to go."

While the *Talamasca* showrunners can't comment on future seasons of *Interview With the Vampire, *Lafferty does promise "there are plans for Raglan" moving past this appearance.
"Whether or not they hue closely to what is in the books or not, that remains to be seen," Lafferty adds.
"I would be deeply disappointed if they don't have me back," Kirk says with a laugh, adding that his *Talamasca* episode is "thrilling."
"We've got action, and I don't want to give too much away, but I had a squib in my jacket for a big set piece scene that we do at the end of that episode," Kirk says. "It was so much fun to shoot."
As for whether Kirk will complete the Anne Rice TV trifecta by appearing on *Mayfair Witches* in the future, that's still a mystery for the actor.

"Isn't that a great question that I have no idea the answer to?" Kirk says with a laugh. "They have not reached out, but I'm always excited and prepared for Raglan to just show up somewhere. That would be fun."
Meanwhile the Talamasca showrunners tease even more crossovers and surprises in the first season after Raglan and, of course, Daniel Molloy's (Eric Bogosian) previously announced appearance.
"There'll be certainly more to come in terms of Anne Rice-created characters and Talamascans and crossover," Hancock promises. "In addition to characters that haven't been exposed yet that Anne Rice wrote about."
