- Belly's stressed by apartment hunting and wedding planning but is thrilled when Laurel attends her bridal shower.
- Jeremiah tries to connect with his father, who still plays favorites with Conrad.
- Steven brushes off Taylor's advances and considers going into business with Denise.
- Belly's left shaken by an intense moment with Conrad after he injures himself surfing.
Let's get this out of the way first: Belly Conklin's not the best houseguest.
The sixth episode of *The Summer I Turned Pretty*'s final season, "Last Name," finds the bride-to-be (Lola Tung) leaving her clutter on counters and her hair in the drain when she spends a couple of weeks at Adam's (Tom Everett Scott) place. Then back in Cousins, she ignores Conrad's (Christopher Briney) carefully prepared meals for her — and he even included a cookie!
Good thing Adam gives Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) the morning off to go apartment hunting, despite Jere's obvious desire to be included in a big meeting at Breaker that afternoon.
The couple's dream apartment ends up being out of reach thanks to past-Jere signing up for a credit card to score free Bruins tickets, and their other two options feature either an unspecified creature living in the bathtub in the kitchen (yep, you read that right) or a stealth cat pee smell.
Speaking from experience: make nice with the critter in the tub because Febreeze isn't touching that feline funk.

Rather than rushing the decision, Jere heads into the office to a shockingly chummy Steven (Sean Kaufman) and Denise (Isabella Briggs), who busts his chops about the wedding's yacht formal dress code. ("It was Taylor's idea," Jere mutters.) He also plays it cool when he spots his dad canoodling with Kayleigh (Emma Ishta), who says she's delighted to help plan the wedding.
Belly's also in yacht formal hell as Paige (Sarah Hudson), the event coordinator at Adam's club, walks her through the updates: the anatomical heart ice sculpture isn't doable, it'll be a formal lobster entrée instead of lobster rolls, and they'll need four bartenders to accommodate all the guests.
"Two weeks ago, we were just gonna get a keg!" Belly laments to Jere over the phone. Also, nobody clued Paige in on a few important details because she also suggested that Laurel light both unity candles. Ouch.
Belly's dejected when she makes it back to the beach house to find Conrad doing more property maintenance. She again claims not to be hungry.

Conrad's so worried about her that he meets Laurel (Jackie Chung) at a diner that absolutely *has* to have incredible french fries. He orders for both of them, apparently intent on feeding at least one Conklin woman, and listens as Laurel unloads her wedding grievances, including that the woman Adam cheated on Susannah with has taken over the planning.
Kayleigh! No!!! Laurel's shocked that Conrad already knew, having heard them fighting about it years ago. He then tells her that the wedding's happening whether they like it or not (and make no mistake, neither of them likes it), but Belly needs her mother.
This man is singlehandedly making sure this wedding actually happens, bless his masochistic heart.**
The next bit of torture for Connie is getting fitted for bespoke wedding suits, where Adam blows off Jere's attempts to connect with him so he can fawn over the prodigal older son.
On the drive to dinner, Conrad looks ready to set himself on fire when Jeremiah suggests he try to hook up with Belly's roommate at the wedding. He then looks ready to fling his burning body out of the moving vehicle when Adam drops the news that he's bringing Kayleigh to the wedding as his date.**

Adam, however, is delighted with this boys' weekend, even letting it slide when Conrad finally breaks the news that he lost his clinic job.
So much for the guys. Time for Belly's shower!
Belly arrives at Taylor (Rain Spencer) and Lucinda's (Kristen Connolly) festively decorated house to be greeted by Anika (Sofia Bryant) and her volleyball friends, with her former neighbor, Mrs. Evans (Avis-Marie Barnes)… and her mom.
We all got a little misty when the crowd parted to reveal Laurel, right? She even brought her lemon squares!**

Naturally, Steven arrives late just in time to see his sister to unwrap the tiny scraps of hot pink fabric that is Lucinda's gift of lingerie. (He looks moments away from melting like those Nazis in *Raiders of the Lost Ark.*)
Then during the game portion of the shower, he and Taylor are more interested in flirt-bickering than focusing on the bride. But Steven shuts down her "kiss me" eyes, leaving Taylor angrily scrolling through Denise's Instagram feed after the party.
Laurel's gift to Belly is her passport and airline gift cards, not so Belly can study in Paris, but so she and Jeremiah can go on a honeymoon. That's… actually kind of huge, even though it probably killed Laurel to do it.
Belly asks if she can stay at Laurel's house that night and calls Jeremiah with the news that she and Laurel have reconciled. She also complains that during the shower game, Steven insisted that it was Conrad, not Jeremiah, who found the Fisher family's first dog, Rosie.
Jere tells her it actually *was* Conrad who got covered in puppy kisses, then cried his little eyes out when they had to say goodbye to her. She's rocked to learn that her recollection of those crucial details is wrong.
She then settles in to watch a movie with Laurel and recalls being a kid watching *Bye Bye Birdie* and singing her heart out over the Conrad in her life, not the Conrad from the musical.
So Belly's been grappling with doubts and fears as she heads back to Cousins, where she writes thank-you notes on her new "Isabel Fisher" stationery from Mrs. Evans. (No, she wasn't planning to change her name, thanks so much!)
When Conrad walks through the kitchen, leaking blood after a surfing accident, Belly follows him to the bathroom and insists on cleaning the wound.
Connie's in so much pain that he drops his forehead to her shoulder while she works, and he's pale and shaky when he looks up through his dripping hair to thank her.
Their gazes lock for what seems like an eternity until Conrad breaks the moment, asking for help to stand.

After he limps away, Belly admits to herself that, unlike last week's incident with the peaches, this near-miss with her first love's lips was all her.
"What just happened? What did I almost do?" she asks herself as she presses a hand to the spot where Conrad rested his head.
**Kissin' cousins corner**
- On the Denise front, she offers to potentially blow up her future by starting a business with Steven based on the game he created. Since he's got a non-compete and two years left on his contract with Breaker, they'll be on the DL for a while.
- Quote of the episode comes from Lucinda: "I had one and a half mudslides! I wasn't drunk." Also, that's a sweet home-salon setup she's got there. And snaps to Queen Taylor for that huge bow butt on her shower dress.
- While we're giving out snaps, here's a shred of credit to Kayleigh for checking with Jeremiah before switching the Fishers' dinner reservation from Jere's favorite restaurant to Connie's favorite after Adam requests it.
- Speaking of Adam, he's awfully quick to blame Belly for clogged drains. I mean, Jeremiah and all of his hair are *right there*.
