Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s politics may have changed over time, but one thing has remained constant: his love of roadkill.
*Real Housewives of New York City *alum and former Kennedy in-law Carole Radziwill testified to the endurance of the current Health and Human Services Secretary's odd obsession on a recent episode of the *On with Kara Swisher* podcast.
"He had that weird thing about roadkill, always," she recalled. "He would pick it up from the road all the time and leave it in his minivan, and sometimes he'd forget. There'd be like a skunk under the seat. His minivan always smelled of death."
* *has reached out to a rep for Kennedy and the HHS' public affairs office for comment.
Donald Trump's appointment of the former environmental lawyer turned anti-vaccine activist to a position that wields an extraordinary amount of influence over public health policy sparked broad controversy, given his controversial and often scientifically unsubstantiated stances on subjects like COVID, HIV, autism, fluoridated water, the immune systems of Black Americans, and more.

But the RFK Jr. controversy train doesn't just stop at stations of science and policy. Last August, he admitted to dumping the body of a dead bear cub in Central Park. Kennedy said he initially picked it up intending to skin it, but ran out of time due to a prior falconry engagement. So he used an old bike in his car to stage the animal corpse as though it had collided with a cyclist and died.
That same month, internet sleuths uncovered a 2012 interview with Kennedy's daughter Kick, who claimed he once beheaded a whale that had washed ashore at the Hyannis Port, Mass. Kennedy compound and tied it to the roof of the aforementioned minivan with bungee cords.********

Chris Pratt supports in-law RFK Jr., but says they don't talk politics at family gatherings
Radziwill, a former journalist for ABC News, married her colleague Anthony Radziwill in 1994. Anthony was the son of Lee Radziwill, the socialite sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, making Carole an in-law of Kennedy in-laws.
The reality star and bestselling author said she "knew [RFK Jr.] well, him and his wife Mary. I spent a lot of time with them, from the time my husband died in 1999, for a decade on." Radziwill remembered Kennedy fondly as a "fierce environmental advocate." The death of his second wife Mary Richardson in 2012 was "the breaking point" in Radziwill's relationship with RFK Jr., she said, and in the time since they lost touch, Radiwill claimed Kennedy has dramatically changed.
"I just can't reconcile who it is I thought I knew with this person who has appeared on the scene," she said. "He's undermining everything that the Kennedy family stood for, everything on every level."****

RFK Jr. hasn't completely alienated all his famous in-laws, however. Earlier this week, Chris Pratt came to the defense of the politician, whose cousin Maria Shriver is the mother of Pratt's wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
"I've spent a number of occasions hanging with him in a strictly family dinner kind of vibe, and I really got along with him well. I think he's great," Pratt shared, though he noted he doesn't plan to "pick his brain to find out exactly" what criticisms being leveled at RFK Jr. are "true."**
