Controversial rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is the subject of a new documentary. **

The film, titled *In Whose Name?*, offers a behind-the-scenes look at Ye's life over a six-year period that saw him navigate his bipolar diagnosis, significant public backlash and the loss of brand sponsorships for repeatedly espousing antisemitic rhetoric, a failed 2020 run for president, and the ending of his marriage to ex-wife Kim Kardashian. **

In a trailer teaser for the film released today, an upset Kardashian can be overheard telling the 24-time Grammy winner that "your personality was not like this a few years ago."

The couple, who share four children together, also appear to have an argument in a separate scene. "We can talk about that later, but," Kardashian says, to which Ye fiercely responds, "It ain't no 'but!'"  **

Kardashian and Ye eventually divorced in November 2022, with the Skims founder going on to date stars like Pete Davidson. Ye later tied the knot with wife Bianca Censori two months later in January 2023.

Directed by Nico Ballesteros, who was just 18 years old when filming began, *In Whose Name* is compiled from over 3,000 hours of never-before-seen footage of Ye and his inner circle.

Its trailer also sees the "Stronger" performer reveal that he is no longer taking medication to treat his bipolar disorder, a move which he claims is "a calling by the universe."

He later affirms that he would "rather be dead than be on medication" in a separate conversation. (Earlier this year, Ye said that he was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and is actually on the autism spectrum.)**

The clip also features several moments between Ye and his children, alongside footage of him announcing his presidential bid and donning a White Lives Matter shirt at a Paris fashion show in 2022. That same year, both Adidas, Balenciaga, and the talent agent CAA cut ties with the rapper after he made repeated antisemitic remarks on social media. **

"You know the best thing about being an artist and bipolar?" Ye says in the trailer. "Anything you do and say is an art piece."

Ye has continued to make antisemitic comments over the years, going as far as telling disgraced conspiracy theorist Alex Jones that he loves Adolf Hitler and Nazis in a December 2022 interview. He later apologized to the Jewish community for his remarks in a post written in Hebrew in 2023, only to call Hitler "fresh" and release a series of swastika T-shirts this February. **

He went on to release a song titled "Heil Hitler" in May, before asking the world for forgiveness in an X post published later that same month. **

"I am done with antisemitism," Ye wrote. "I love all people. God forgive me for the pain I've caused. I forgive those who have caused me pain. Thank you God."**

*In Whose Name? *will debut in theaters on Sept. 19. Watch the trailer above.
