The best response to being straddled by Jonathan Groff? "Thank you," of course.
Speaking with *GQ*, Groff revealed that the *John Wick *actor thanked him for incorporating him into his memorable performance at the 2025 Tony Awards in June. While performing a medley from his Broadway production of *Just in Time*, Groff made his way to an unassuming Reeves' seat and straddled him, stunning the actor as he smiled and flashed two hand horn signs from between Groff's legs.
"His reaction was so priceless, the best reaction ever," Groff said, sharing that it resulted in a private backstage visit. "An hour later, I was getting ready for the *Hamilton* performance backstage, and the stage manager was like, 'Is Jonathan Groff in here? Keanu Reeves is looking for Jonathan Groff.' He came backstage to give me a hug and say, 'Thank you for doing that,'* *and how much fun it was to be a part of the number."**
He added, "We had such a great moment after!"

Reeves, meanwhile, was at the awards show in celebration of his upcoming Broadway debut in a revival of Samuel Beckett's *Waiting for Godot*, in which he'll star opposite his former *Bill & Ted *franchise costar and longtime pal Alex Winter. The two were tapped as co-presenters for the evening, both presenting Sarah Snook with the award for Best Leading Actress in a Play for her work in *The Picture of Dorian Gray.*
"The films that we did together, the *Bill & Ted* films, the language in those films had the architecture and their rhythms," Reeves told **'s editor-in-chief Patrick Gomez on the Tonys red carpet. "Even from early days, we approached them theatrically or even commedia dell'arte: 'Okay, I do something, you do something, I get the ball, you get the ball.'
"That's why, in the audition, we were so vibed," Winter added of the upcoming stage reunion. "You didn't get that from other actors so much."
