Ed Helms is looking back on the grind of working on *The Hangover* and *The Office* simultaneously.
During the latest episode of the *MeSsy *podcast, hosted by Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, the actor shared the details of his grueling work schedule.
Helms said *The Office* showrunner Greg Daniels and *The Hangover *director Todd Phillips were "gracious" enough to work around his commitments. He would work on the show in Los Angeles on Mondays and Tuesdays, then fly to Las Vegas to shoot the movie the rest of the week.
"I worked seven days a week," Helms said. "Because I was crossboarded on *The Office*, they were extremely full days of production. And then on *The Hangover*, Bradley [Cooper] and Zach [Galifianakis] and I are in literally every scene. Like, there's no scene without all three of us."

The film involved a lot of night shoots. At times, Helms would finish *The Hangover *at 4:30 a.m. and immediately fly back to Los Angeles to make his 6:30 a.m. call time for the sitcom.
"It was completely and totally insane," he said. "I was drinking, like, you know, six Red Bulls a day or something to get through it."
During one of these brutal back-to-back days, the *We're the Millers* actor recalled having to go to a charity event organized by Ben Stiller.

Despite the demanding work, Helms said it was the "greatest" experience to do *The Office *and that it was a "pure joy" to film *The Hangover.*
"I honestly loved every second of it," he said. "I just felt so psyched to be a part of these things that were so cool and so fun."
