*Chicago Fire*'s Darren Ritter is returning to the show.

Actor Daniel Kyri, who took on the role in 2018 and said he was leaving in April, ahead of the season 13 finale, will be back on the NBC drama.

"Back! For a limited time only," he captioned a photo of himself with costars Hanako Greensmith, who plays Violet Mikami, and Jocelyn Hudon, whose character is Lyla Novak.

It's worth noting that there was not a wrapped up ending for Darren, so there's an opening for a traditional farewell.

EW has reached out to the show for comment.

When Kyri announced his departure, he was grateful for his time on the show.

"I'll miss this character, and it's time to move on... Thank you to the cast, crew, & the awesome fans."**

Michael Bradway is leaving 'Chicago Fire' after landing role in 'Every Summer After' adaptation

Kyri wasn't the only actor who said farewell to the procedural at the end of the season.

Jake Lockett, who played Sam Carver beginning in 2022, and Michael Bradway, the actor behind Jack Damon, are also departing the series.

As EW reported last month, Bradway has landed a role in Prime Video's upcoming adaptation of the Carley Fortune novel *Every Summer After *that will be called *Every Year After*. He will play the part of Charlie Florek in the multi-book saga, which means he could appear in multiple installments.

Lockett thanked his on-set family for "so many cherished memories."**

"While I don't exactly know what the future looks like, I do know that it won't be exactly what it was and I am going to miss the hell out of that," he shared on social media in April. "So much pride in this journey. It's been an honor bringing Sam to life and to every one of you, thank you for the love and support over the past three years."

Season 14 of *Chicago Fire *premieres Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock.
