- Here are the big reveals from the Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer shown in the room at New York Comic Con.

- Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Matthew Lillard's Mr. Charles, and Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson featured in the footage.

- "It was a long time in the works and I'm so excited to be back," Ritter said on stage.

New York City just got a whole lot grittier because Jessica Jones is back, baby!

Marvel unveiled the first *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2 trailer at a New York Comic Con panel on Saturday. While the footage hasn't released online just yet, those in the room got a proper look at the return of Krysten Ritter's iconic homegrown New York hero. Fans have been chomping at the bit to see her suited and booted since it was announced that she would be joining the second season, and all that waiting paid off.

Ritter was also on hand at the convention alongside star Charlie Cox, a.k.a. Matt Murdock/Daredevil himself.

The footage revealed a New York City under siege by Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his new authoritarian regime. One scene shows a door swinging open as the camera lingers on a pair of boots belonging to Jones herself. She's later seen knocking an assailant back a few dozen feet with a simple swing of a metal tray.

"I got the talking points and they say, 'Please don't reveal anything about Jessica Jones,'" Ritter said on stage. "I'll say that Jessica is back and it's exciting to be in the action and she looks cool as ever."

She did say her return to the character, which she originated on Netflix's Marvel series *Jessica Jones*, was in the works for a long time. "I've been asked about it every day and when they finally announced it, I kept looking over my shoulder. 'Are you sure? Am I allowed to say this now?,'" she said. "So it was a long time in the works and I'm so excited to be back."

Ritter confirmed she also wasn't subliminally trying to tease her character comeback on social media, despite what fans might want to believe. "That was just me being normal. That was Instagram doing its thing," the actress said. "I did know and I'd come up with cute ways to be like, 'I don't know, I hope so, we'll see.'"

While Cox and Ritter's reunion was a treat for fans, so were the epic reveals within the footage shared for the upcoming entry. The footage opens with Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page and Cox's Matt in romantic mode before an explosion from outside their apartment knocks them both on their feet, blowing out Matt's eardrums.

Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin was featured throughout the trailer and was shown boxing an opponent in a ring, proving that he's still in formidable shape after his mayoral run in season 1.

Elden Henson, whose Foggy Nelson shockingly died in the *Born Again* series premiere, also appeared in the trailer to the joy and sorrow of many fans. Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum previously confirmed in an exclusive interview with * *that the fan-favorite character will appear in season 2 of the Disney+ series, despite recent conflicting reports.

It was also revealed that season 2 will premiere on March 2026, a year after the series made its debut on the streamer and revived characters and story from Netflix's original *Daredevil*, which ran for three seasons from 2015-2018.

Matthew Lillard made a brief appearance in the New York Comic Con footage from season 2, after EW learned that the *Scream* legend will play political power player Mr. Charles who will be working in direct opposition to the corrupt Mayor Fisk.

"We made a pact at the beginning of season 1," Cox said, referring to Matt's sit-down with Fisk. "By the time we get to season 2, the deal is off the table. All bets are off," he adds. "The world has changed a lot for Matt and for superheroes in general. It's much more sinister place, it's a much more scary place for the people who are trying to do good."

Winderbaum previously told EW on Thursday, "The story is about power. When Wilson Fisk takes over New York, not just as a mayor but as a king in a way, it puts him in a new class of power players on the international stage. Matthew Lillard's character represents that."

*Born Again*'s brutal season 1 finale saw Fisk take over the city's government, lock away anyone he deemed a threat to his power in a secret prison, installed his own force of corrupt cops acting under his control, outlawed vigilantism, and declared martial law. Matt teamed up with Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), who ultimately got caught but, of course, escaped his prison — setting up Bernthal's standalone Punisher TV special for Disney+ as well as season 2, which finished filming this summer.

*Daredevil: Born Again* has already been renewed for a third season.**
