When Lee Rice walked through the door of his house after a long day at work, all he wanted to do was make a coffee.
As the Durham, North East England local got to brewing, he began blasting Myles Smith's "Stay (If You Wanna Dance)" through the kitchen speakers. He'd heard the song for the first time earlier that day at work and instantly fell in love with it. So when he played it again at home, he couldn't help but dance around the kitchen.
But little did Lee, 46, know, he wasn't the only one home. His wife, Helen, had come in too — and she secretly pulled out her phone to record the moment. Later, she showed the video to their kids — Natasha, Jessica, Matthew and Alexander — who all found it hilarious.
"When I first saw the video, I told my sister that I thought people might find it entertaining," Natasha, 18, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I thought it was funny and really captured his personality perfectly — he loves a dance, and people have enjoyed watching him in the past."
A few days later, with her dad's permission, Natasha decided to post the video on TikTok. She didn't think much of it at first — but within an hour, she noticed it was taking off.
As the views kept climbing and the clip neared one million views, Natasha decided to record her dad's reaction.
"My dad's reaction to it taking off was amazing," she says. "When I told him the kitchen dancing video was at 1.5 million views, he was just so shocked — he couldn't believe it and just started laughing."

Since then, the video has racked up more than 12 million views and 6,000 comments — including one from Smith himself.
"Oh we need him on stage immediately 👀👀," the musician commented.
"The comments and messages from viewers have been amazing," Natasha says. "People are saying how much they love my dad, how wholesome the video is, that they want more, and that it made them smile and feel happy."
"It was so exciting when I realized Myles Smith had seen both posts and commented on them," she adds. "It reached over 10 million views in less than three days. Now at over 12 million, it's hard to comprehend just how many people that actually is. It's insane!"
Natasha says the whole experience has brought their family even closer.
"I would say it's given us some amazing memories to look back on and laugh about," she shares. "We've had such a laugh doing this together. My dad's always up for joining in and having fun."
She adds, "He says if him being involved in this helps me figure out what I'd like to do in the future, or possibly leads to some exciting opportunities or work experience, then he's up for it."
