Things are definitely booming in *Landman*'s second season. **

On Thursday, Paramount+ dropped a trailer for the upcoming season of Taylor Sheridan's hit West Texas oil drama ahead of its Nov. 16 release that shines a spotlight on the complicated working partnership between newly appointed M*Tex Oil president Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) and the company's majority stakeholder, Cami Miller (Demi Moore). **

The clip sees the pair — who were promoted to their new titles following the unexpected death of Cami's husband Monty (Jon Hamm) at the end of season 1 — checking in with one another before she walks out to speak with in front of a group of money-hungry bankers.

"I called this luncheon to squash the rumors and to offer you a warning," Moore notifies the crowd. "The only difference between me and my husband is I'm meaner." **

While Cami and Tommy may be working together, that doesn't mean they always see eye to eye. "She owns the company, but I run it," Thornton says later. "Situations like this have to come to a head before it resolves itself. It's about to come to a head."

The trailer also showcases several brutal fights, an over-flowing oil emergency at the patch, a car accident, and Cami paying witness to two men taking down a third individual with their guns drawn.**** It also confirms that Sam Elliott, who was cast in an undisclosed role on the series in April, will be playing Tommy's father. **

"So just another day?" Elliott asks Thornton over the phone, to which the latter simply replies, "Just another day, Pop."

Thornton and Moore previously teased their characters' explosive new partnership in a recent interview with **. **

"I think, at the beginning, [Tommy] really is her guide and anchor," Moore explained. "In the opening, you really see that I'm kind of a lamb being thrown into the lion's den [and] really having to have a real show of strength. And I think Cami is having to operate a little bit out of the fake it till you make it [mentality]."

That bond, however, will be tested throughout the season as she continues to find her footing in the male-dominated industry.

"The dynamic is certainly very interesting because he's essentially telling her, 'Look, you've got to listen to me because you've never done this before,'" Thornton said*.* "And her outlook on that is, 'How am I going to learn if you do everything?' That's really how the dynamic starts."

Thornton also praised his "mentor and friend" Elliott for his contribution to the second season.

"I can only say this: I've known Sam longer than anybody in the cast," Thornton said. "Sam and I go back to somewhere in the mid-to-late-'80s and we've done two things together before this and both of those things, it was only two scenes in each one. To be able to be around him longer on a more regular basis on the set, it's just been a joy for me because I love that man. He's been a mentor and a friend and just a hero of mine always."

At the time, Thornton noted that he considered season 2 to be much more of a "slow burn" than its wildly successful predecessor.

"Now that the audience knows all the characters, Taylor was able to really dive into the relationships more," he said. "Last season, we had to explain what this business was all about and who the people are. This season, he was able to really focus in the first few episodes on the family dynamic and the business dynamic. But this one really ramps up as it goes on, and there's more and more intensity."

*Landman* season 2 hits Paramount+ on Nov. 16. Watch the trailer above.
