Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist, Turning Point USA founder, and media personality known for his viral "Prove Me Wrong" series, was shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
In video posts circulating on social media, Kirk can be seen getting struck while manning his booth as part of an event for his The American Comeback Tour, hosted by the TPUSA chapter at Utah Valley. Attendees have also shared video footage of students on campus running away from the sound of gunshots.
The Utah Valley University Police department confirmed the shooting to **, adding, "Shots fired on campus, we have asked everyone to shelter in place."

Shortly before shots rang out and the videos first began appearing online, Kirk shared photos and video from the Utah event on X. "WE. ARE. SO. BACK.," he wrote. "Utah Valley University is FIRED UP and READY for the first stop back on the American Comeback Tour."
President Donald Trump has addressed the incident on Truth Social, writing, "We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!"

The incident has also been acknowledged by Utah senators Mike Lee and Ashley Moody. Following reports that shots were fired, Lee wrote on X, "I am tracking the situation at Utah Valley University closely. Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk and the students gathered there."
In her own post, Moody wrote, "My office is monitoring the situation at Utah Valley University. I pray for Charlie Kirk, the students, and this nation."
