*The Voice *has returned with a new group of up-and-coming stars, and this year's coaches — Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire — wasted no time in lobbying for them to be on their teams.
In the case of 14-year-old Max Chambers, from Shreveport, La., it was Bublé and McEntire who battled it out after his energetic performance of the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back," for which he wore a light blue suit with a bow tie and glasses.
"The joy you just brought the whole room is immense," Bublé said. "Fourteen — it's gonna be crazy for people to watch how much you grow."
He noted, "Your runs are great. Your pitch is great. Sometimes it's about controlling stuff, and that's OK. That's what my job is as a coach. You're awesome, and I'd love to hang with you, man."
Meanwhile, McEntire pointed out that she's recorded all types of music, including that of R&B greats Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross, so they would make a good team.
Chambers said that he'd been singing since he was 2, and he's played young Michael Jackson on Broadway in *MJ the Musical* last year.

All of this distressed Horan, who'd been close to hitting his buzzer but didn't. He jokingly pretended to do so then, even though it was too late.
"I'm gonna be honest with you, Max. I've got no idea why I didn't turn," Horan said. "Your voice is so mature. That Broadway experience gives you that working voice, a voice that's been touring. Welcome to the show."
While Snoop didn't explain why he didn't try to get Chambers on his team, the rapper told the contestant's parents that they're doing a good job with him.
Ultimately, Chambers went with Bublé, who told the camera that the young singer's Broadway experience means that "he has discipline and is able to do what it takes."
Later on the season premiere, contestant Jack Austin, a 21-year-old from Battle Creek, Mich., awed Horan by singing the former One Direction star's own song, "This Town."
"Thank you for the song. I really appreciate it," Horan said, before joking that he waited to turn second to seem cool. (Bublé turned first, while McEntire turned after Horan.)
"I thought you did an amazing job," Horan added. "Some of your melody choices that you made, I was like 'Oh, I should've thought of that, should've thought of that.'"

Horan went onstage so the two could sing together, which they did.
Austin declared the moment "a dream come true," then, of course, he chose, in his words, his "new duet partner."**
