Travis Kelce's dad, Ed, is spilling the beans.
Just hours after Travis and Taylor Swift announced the engagement heard ʼround the world, Ed spoke to local Cleveland station News 5 about the big reveal and where he was when he first heard it.
"Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago," Ed told the outlet, adding that his son wanted to "make some grand thing, to make it a big special event."
To this, Ed said he offered the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end some advice: "I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event...when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you."
Ed also claimed that he knew for months that Travis was going to propose in the near future.

In the end, the outlet claims Travis proposed to Swift at a garden in Lee's Summit, Mo.
"He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, 'Let's go out and have a glass of wine.'... They got out there, and that's when he asked her, and it was beautiful," Ed said. "They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great."
The Kelce patriarch was at a public Eagles practice event on Aug. 10 when he got the FaceTime from the happy couple.
"I got a FaceTime call from them, and as soon as I saw the FaceTime, I saw it was Travis, and then I saw Taylor there with him, I knew what they were going to say, and they, you know, let us know," he said.
He noted that he's never seen his son happier than he is when he is with Swift, which he also noticed when spending time with the couple and Travis' mom, Donna, over the weekend.

"We actually went to a thing in [Kansas City] Sunday night, which was an ESPN airing of *The Kingdom*," Ed said, adding that afterwards he and Donna went back to Taylor and Travis' home, where the *The Life of a Showgirl* singer made them "a wonderful dinner."**
Ed continued, "To just watch the two of them, just crazy about each other. It's truly kinda neat. They're just two young people very much in love."

On Tuesday, Swift and Travis shared in a joint Instagram post that they were tying the knot after two years of dating.
"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," Swift captioned the post, which also included a close-up shot of the diamond engagement ring. Swift's rep confirmed to* *that the bling is an Old Mine Brilliant Cut designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
A carousel of pictures in the announcement also shows the two embracing, as well as Travis on bended knee next to Swift, surrounded by a flowery arch, countless roses, and various other floral arrangements.
