*The View*'s season 29 return date has been announced, following the long-running ABC talk show's summer hiatus that saw current and former cohosts keep up the drama even with the show off the air.

In a new video shared by the show's social media accounts, all six cohosts are seen teasing the show's return.

"New season, new view. Be there!" Joy Behar says, leading the clip as the longest-running cohost in the talk show's history.

Moderator and Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg closes out the video with an address to the camera, saying, "This is why you should always keep coming back to *The View*. Because you never know what's going to happen!"

The teaser concludes with a tune-in notice for *The View*'s return, which is set for Monday, Sept. 8 — slightly later than recent seasons' debut dates, which have landed during the first week of September.

Rosie O'Donnell says 'The View' will be canceled over politics: 'Truth is dangerous'

Despite going off the air in July for its temporary annual summer hiatus, *The View* and its cohosts still generated headlines in recent weeks.

Former cohost Rosie O'Donnell speculated in early August that, amid growing political pressure, *The View* might be canceled. In a lengthy TikTok post, O'Donnell said that she heard rumors that the network would be "reviewing" an alleged liberal bias on the program, "which is code for — we're gonna cancel it we're just trying to soften you up first,'" she said.

In response, a White House spokesperson told * *that* *they hoped Behar would move to Ireland to join O'Donnell outside the United States, calling both women "irrelevant losers" in a statement.* *

O'Donnell's words came amid widespread speculation that Stephen Colbert's *Late Night *talk show was canceled by CBS in order to entice the Federal Communications Commission to approve a merger deal between CBS parent company Paramount and Skydance, with FCC chair Brendan Carr even admitting on Fox News that he thought there could be "consequences" for *The View* down the line.

*The View *additionally came under fire from political figures in recent weeks, especially after Navarro voiced opposition to people making a tourist spectacle out of the Alligator Alcatraz detainment centers in Florida.

In an exclusive statement to EW on July 11, following Navarro's on-air remarks about the situation, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said that, "Every time you think Ana Navaro [*sic*] can't get any dumber, she proves you wrong."

Later, after Behar suggested that Trump was jealous of Barack Obama's physical looks, marriage, and singing ability, the White House again released a statement to EW claiming the show might be "pulled off the air" over Behar.
