Devon Walker won't be back for *Saturday Night Live*'s upcoming season 51.
"Me and baby broke up," the comedian posted on his Instagram account on Monday alongside a photo of himself at *SNL*, where he has worked for the last three seasons.
He followed up with more details in an Instagram story post, writing, "just to be clear, this is good news!! it was just time for me to do something different."
"Please don't be hitting me with the 'im so sorry' we not on that at ALL," he insisted. "Sometimes mom and dad just don't see things eye to eye."
He promised to "talk about the whole thing" soon on his podcast, *My Favorite Lyrics*.**
Coming off writing stints on *Big Mouth* and* Everything's Trash*, Walker joined *SNL* in 2022 as a featured player for season 48, along with Marcello Hernández, Michael Longfellow, and Molly Kearney. This followed the previous season's mass exodus, which included stars like Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Melissa Villaseñor.
As is common practice, Walker was promoted to the repertory cast after two seasons as a featured player. He became a reliable sketch performer and showed off his stand-up skills on "Weekend Update."

'SNL' head Lorne Michaels would've invited Sinead O'Connor to 'SNL50' if still alive

Walker elaborated on his exit in one of his Instagram slides, which showed a document titled, "Wait..did he quit or did he get fired?"
He wrote, "To me, jobs in this industry feel like a bunch of little marriages. Some of em last for a long time if we're lucky, but most of them are fleeting. Permanent until they're not. That's the deal. You know what it is it when you sign up."
He continued, "Me and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic as hell. But we did what we made the most of what it was, even amidst all of the dysfunction. We made a f‑‑‑ed up lil family."
Walker said he was about to embark on a trip to Japan before focusing on a new career goal. "When I get back I'm tryna be in a prestige drama," he wrote. "Ideally something with Julianne Moore. Hope y'all staying hydrated and getting some money today."
Even from his earliest appearances on *SNL*, Walker found himself not being able to escape fans comparing his appearance to another previous season exiter, Pete Davidson.
While Walker said he did not see the similarities himself, he previously told *GQ* that he had no problem with the comparisons because "people want to f‑‑‑ that guy, so I guess that's nice."**
News of Walker's exit comes on the heels of show boss Lorne Michaels confirming there would be some turnover at the show ahead of the new season, only assuring that cast member James Austin Johnson would continue to play Donald Trump for the foreseeable future.
