Colman Domingo: Emmy award-winning actor, playwright, director, and… almost cult member?**

The* Sing Sing* star, 55, revealed in a preview clip for an upcoming episode of Mythical Kitchen's *Last Meals *that he was almost recruited to an unnamed cult before he realized what was happening and fled. The anecdote came up as part of a conversation with *Last Meals *host Josh Scherer about the importance of being an active member in one's community.**

"You haven't joined a cult yet now that you moved to Malibu?" Scherer teased, to which Domingo replied, "I almost joined a cult in Mexico City, but that's another story."

The actor noted that the incident occurred a few months ago and that the cult was very friendly. **

"It was just a group of nice people, and then I was like, 'Wait a minute, this is weird,'" he recalled. "I was like, 'What's up with you guys?'"**

And, in Domingo's defense, he did reveal it was his "first encounter" ever with a cult. He added, "But as I did research and found out more about them, I'm like, 'Oh, that's a cult.'"

Scherer also revealed his own experience with another undisclosed cult who similarly tried to get him to join their cause.

"I said no, and they were just like, 'No, I think you really should,'" the host said, per PEOPLE. "And then I was like, 'Don't mess with cults, man. Don't be the person that talks to too many people.' And so, I skateboarded away."
