- Whoopi Goldberg introduced a *View* Hot Topic about the alleged Jeffrey Epstein files.

- The cohosts discussed potential political maneuvering to distract from the Epstein topic.

- Joy Behar said she doesn't care if Democrats are in the potential Epstein files, as she'd criticize them just as much.

*The View* cohosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg have made it clear that they'll hold all political parties accountable — not just Republicans — amid a rise in interests in the alleged Jeffrey Epstein files on both sides of the aisle.

As the talk show personalities discussed ongoing speculation as to who is or isn't on the reported Epstein list (that may or may not exist) as a record of who associated with the convicted child sex offender, Behar said that, unlike conservatives, she doesn't care which end of the political spectrum that potential offenders fall on.

"There's also the idea that people will find that [Bill] Clinton might be in the Epstein files. People like Clinton, Democrats. And I say, so what?" the 82-year-old told *The View* audience.

She added, "Listen, I'm fine with that. I'm not in a cult. I don't worship at the shrine of Democrats that could be pedophiles." (** has reached out to legal representatives for Clinton for comment.)

Goldberg, 69, added an observation of what she thinks is Donald Trump's "biggest mistake" in handling the increase in interest revolving around the Epstein case.

"You've got 900 million, zillion pictures of the two of them, that's why people are pissed," Goldberg said, referencing the fact that even Trump's supporters on the Republican side are calling for more information on the validity of the alleged Epstein client list and Trump's potential involvement (or lack thereof). "Finally, people are saying, wait a minute, how come you all have seemingly been together so much if you don't know him at all? You said it, the Democrats didn't say it, you said, day one, I'm putting all of this out." (EW has reached out to the White House for a response.)**

Conservative panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked under Trump during his first administration before resigning and speaking out against him, also weighed in on issues surrounding Republican handling of the developments.

"The issue of why this isn't going away is because the midterms are coming up and Republican lawmakers are on the ballot, and their base is the same base as Donald Trump's," the 36-year-old observed. "So, while *he* doesn't have to run for re-election again, *they* are nervous. Their voters are not going to forget about this."

Goldberg jumped in to remind viewers that "everybody who's up for re-election on either side should be nervous" in an election cycle.

"Because you don't make that decision for us. We decide who goes in. It is up to the people, it's not up to the lawmakers, so you should be nervous wherever you stand," she advised. "Because if we don't think you're doing your job, you're gone like a fart in a dust storm."

Behar and Goldberg recently laughed off allegations that members of *The View* panel are on the client list that was, at least previously, according to United States Attorney General Pam Bondi, waiting to be reviewed on her desk.

"There's nothing sitting on anybody's desk," Goldberg asserted on the July 8 episode.

*The View* airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC.
